I suppose O2 won't be launching this any time soon because it would eat in to iphone sales...and if only it was Symbian or Android. Shame, looks tasty. Dilemmas, dilemmas...

well, back with the TyTN 1, when Windows Mobile 6 was released, HTC provided the upgrade to the then WiMo5 TyTN for free - so there is the possibility down the line that HTC will release an official Android ROM for the Touch HD...
Considering that the Touch Pro is yet to be available on contract with major networks, I don't hold out too much hope that the HD will be available before the year is out. Paying £499-599 for a sim-free version isn't really feasible for the average consumer, either.
I still have (somewhere) a Sony Ericsson P990 which was so slow I'm still waiting for the last SMS to be delivered!
I'm currently very happy with a Touch Dual (6.1 and all, working well with our 2003 Server) and I will be first in line to upgrade to the HD in January when (hopefully) it will be free on my business contract.

I love Symbian! Everything just seems to work, I prefer it to the iphone OS. The s60 3rd gen is a great OS, if a bit complicated and convoluted at times. It has lots of advanced features and functions and great free 3rd party support. Having said that, I understand why some people may not feel the same way.
WiMo on the other hand is a shockingly poor OS, no matter what GUI you stick on top! The only reason WiMo phones come with a stylus is to hit the reset button every 5 minutes! :)
