I'm looking forward to seeing whether Android can leapfrog the iPhone in functionality and desireability.
For me personally, the prospect of being able to develop some Java home-brew apps will give Android an instant leg-up over iPhone... although on a handset where I can't (easily) sync my iTunes purchases.
This does appear to be the first mobile OS to offer an iPhone class web-experience, combined with a more open platform allowing, rather than discouraging flexibility and innovation (flash and java content in a web page anyone?).
Interesting couple of months ahead - definitely worth holding on to your money a few more weeks until the dust settles.
