The addition of FLAC is brilliant! Now all they need to do is make everything available on FLAC (although I dread to think how much server space that would need!) and also bundle in either .jpg or .pdf files containing the album artwork and you really do have a proper alternative to CDs
Now all they have to do is make it available over here in the Netherlands. I'm eager to know what Spotify is all about, but their service is sadly not yet available over here.

@Gordon - I don't mean that album art, I mean the rest of the booklet that would have come with the CD! MediaMonkey works great for finding missing album pics and embedding them!
spotify has definately done thier research, good on them. respect to a company who are pushing the right way to do business, just wish those coporate aresholes would allow the cash cows to be on spotify. it's better to get some money than no money, it's only a matter of time for me to subscribe to this service just because they are doing it right. good on you spotify !!
@ alchobot - I agree, I don't mind paying for something if I believe it is well executed and in the best interests of the industry, in the same way that I don't mind paying more for a game on Steam as they offer an excellent service. The only thing stopping me from paying for it is still the disappointing amount of music that is missing from their catalogue
I think a certain fruit stall in Cupertino might be leaking a little apple juice, don't you? By the way, did anything official come of that Spotify iPhone app?
Well I'm saying they're worried. I mean they SHOULD be worried, no? The iTunes music arm is gonna start to pale in comparison with this kind of service - admittedly they still to rule the roost with video.
what we need now is more hardware flac support, from a certain fruity music player!
I've recently had to decide to rip all mine to high bitrate vbr mp3's, purely because I can't justify the space or the management of dual format files!
