I also want to know the full specs of this phone. I'm pretty sure it will be capacitive, although I've seen no official confirmation from Samsung about that. Other things like, the amount of RAM the phone has is also interesting to know.
All of the early hands on I have seen have reported that it will be capacitive. And since all other Android handsets from reputable manufacturers have also been capacitive I'd assume it's on some list from google to do with recommended hardware.
Maybe with a monthly charge you can live with it but on a "pay as you go or prepaid" service it is a nightmare since all or most applications require you to log into your google account to work. Even the agenda needs you to connect to google.
This is unreal because every time you set or read an appointment you pay for it and also why on hearth should I put my data into google's hands. It just doesn't make any sense. Someone a long time ago tried to convince everybody to put all your data on the internet so that you can access it anytime but this is a phone that stays in my pocket so this all idea is utterly stupid.

My inner geek has a real soft spot for this handset, I hope it will be a reasonable price sim free. Thank goodness for cheap 30 day sim only tariffs, I think i'll hang on till August to get a good hands-on with the gluttony of handsets about to hit the market.
Maybe someone else here can corroborate this, as I haven't really had any experience with Android, but I imagine that Android phones use google gears. This technology means that all your data is available even when you are offline.
am xcited about this phone, if any grudge, itd be the design... samsung aren't much of a designer but when it comes to powerful features they are the best.... i'll buy either this or the Pre...
if I need to connect to Google to just open an app there is no way you can use it offline, plus I do not want to put my data in Google's hands (or anyone else for that matter).
The original idea of putting your data on the web was that you could access it from anywhere but since this is a PHONE that is supposed to be in your pocket why would I put my data somewhere else? unless of course the telcos are paying google so that they can charge you everytime you access your data.... but it is just a thought...
