Being an acer and being for films I suspect the display may just be standard and the 3d an entirely software solution.

Why can't that make this 3D tech all open API's rather than proprietary, which i am sure nVidia's is also.

Acer do seem to be lowest-required-effort bodge-merchants (and this is coming from someone who works selling Acers!)

@Simon: Because laptops are a crowded market, and anything a manufacturer has that can make their product stand out is going to be something they keep to themselves.
