I'm very tempted by the thought of this.
Got a Ricoh GR Digital (and wide angle lens kit) for landscape scenes and interior photography - and have been really pleased with it.
I might just find a gap in my camera bag for the CX2 - a simple + desirable 'point & shoot' camera with the versatility to do a lot of other really creative stuff.
I look forward to the TR review of this camera with great anticipation!
@Bailey's_Coffee - have to admit, I'm a bit of a Ricoh fan. Very under the radar brand to the casual customer, but I prefer its compacts over just about anyone at the minute. The CX1 also fixed my primary issue with them: slow autofocus time, so the CX2 should really be something. We'll get Cliff on it ;)
@Gordon - Also a Ricoh fan (another GR Digital owner) but while I think the CX2 improves an already great camera, feel features such as 'minaturize mode' are more (while nice) gimmick's than useful. I would like Ricoh to attempt a sweep panorama as the the Sony HX1 with the CMOS sensor. Hopefully with a software update later perhaps?
The CX2 has an interval timer, something I could really use, but does not shoot HD video, something I would very much like. Guess I'll have to wait for the CX3.

@Ripsnorter - why not use the interval feature to capture a long sequence of stills, then use almost any decent video editing software to combine the stills into a 9 megapixel 'HyperHD' (you heard it here first) movie?
@ Bailey's_Coffee - I think that wouold be way beyond my technical skills. In fact, I'm still trying to work out if that wouldn't produce some kind of Frankenstein film! I really don't understand why other manufacturers don't offer interval timining since it's only a matter of software programming. I have an older Canon that takes great photos but I would like to upgrade soon and HD videos, along with an interval timer, would seal the deal. The Ricoh is a lovely camera, although maybe also a touch on the large size when compared with some of the Canons, and is still high on my list. I just can't help feeling, and hoping, the next iteration will be the one.
