With the backwards compatibility it would be perfect. I already own the 40GB PS3, but I live in hope that one day someone will figure out how to emulate the PS2 games or Sony will release something to make it work.

I am still waiting for that game that will make me want to buy one as still cant afford blu-ray films yet :/ is just nothing that appeals yet. The 80GB sounds nice though.

I think eventually Sony will have to release a firmware update that adds software PS2 emulation back in.

I'm waiting for the slim version to come out - I still think I have a few years to go. They may even have some decent games by then!
