Christmas has come early for me then. I've got the 46" version of this TV which I managed to get hands on early Novemeber. A great TV it is too btw.

@Heinz57 - double check that product code because Philips has a number of models just one number/letter out. Officially it states December will be the UK release date.

Gordon - It's definately the 46pfl9704: silver frame, 3 ambilight, LED pro model. And I'm looking at it right now, sitting pretty in my living room :-)

Philips UK press office is so behind! This TV was announced back in February here:

and has been available, albeit scarcely across Europe since July, maybe even earlier since fullhd.gr reviewed it back in May.

I've been waiting nearly all year!!!

Its funny how I come to TR for the latest news and this announcement is so out dated. I know it's not your fault guys. I think you should have a team that scour the forums to be on top of the game!

Philips has done such a bad job here in the UK, getting this TV into the shops. So December is the release date... Ok we'll see about that! Just so happens that my Birthday and Xmas are in this month! ;)

I want one, but its way out of my price range for a 40" LED, might pick one up in about 6 months when they drop in price (if I can find a job first).

So if this tv was announced in Feb the technology is already almost a year old. Thats a long time in the tv world. New models yearly so how long before its superseded?
