Seems a real oversight on Palms part to have a shortage on day 1. They may try to spin this, but it just seems like they've lost a lot of potential sales. And now the new iPhone is out, some people will be thinking twice about waiting for shops to get more Pre stock. They've got one big chance to get a jump on Apple and get back into the game, and not having enough stock isn't the right way to go about things. It's not a Wii.
Wonder how they'll react to the iPhone price drop. Hopefully it'll be cheaper when it launches here than it would've otherwise.
Its amazing the difference Apples hype makes. This is an interesting article on and about the launch of the Palm Pre, the only phone that could possibly match or possibly beat the iPhone (Proud Android G1 owner here as well!) and barely anyone is actually commenting or seemingly reading this.
The two Apple articles over the past day get nearly 50 comments each, the two pre articles have about 8 between them (inlcuding this one I'm typing!). Its crazy how polarizing Apple can be. I'm starting to think that the Pre won't succeed if only because not enough people know about it.
