Beautiful does not make it a good OS/UI. I have finally obtained a review Pre unit and the thing is slow and buggy as hell. Definitely not something I would pay with my own money.

Ooh, I like the back cover in the middle.

What's with the wasted space between the screen and KB though where they could have had, like, more SCREEN.

Also, going by article (and farki80's comments), this clearly won't be the phone to make WebOS shine.

Ho-hum.

@DrDark The Pre had a swipable place just beklow the screen where you could do gestures, thats probably what the "wasted" space is for. But I agree, IMO this isnt the phone to get the webOS out there! Palm need to step up a gear or two sharpish

to be honest, I've only turned wifi on once with my Pre. What's the point when 3G is more than enough for basic web browsing, status updates and IMs.

I don't find mine slow either, esp not in the important areas like scrolling. Sometimes there is a minor delay loading or closing. And yes it would be nice to get the latest OS version, and Palm do need to keep those coming. Its not as advanced as a winmo or s60 device, its the same dumb-smartphone as the iPhone.

@cjb110 - because many people don't have a 3G signal in their homes or at work - where they spend the majority of their time...
