@xbrumster, it would be more than welcomed if Apple can make os3.0 easy to be unlocked..
Yeah, that would be great. And then I'll let my Virus infect the world, yippee. Please I-Phone users don't forget to use your I-phone to check you bank accounts, that's a good chap.
@xbrumster Actually, generally, it wouldn't. Surely an OS that makes it easy for people to unlock and hack the system would be much less secure? Like the majority I'm perfectly happy with it the way it is, sure, there have been a few niggly problems, but nothing I couldn't live with...
@xbrumster : I'll only be unlocking OS 3.0 when Apple release a new iPhone, but only if it's still tied to O2 because I plan to buy my lass one and the signal round my parts is abysmal, and it's more than likely they'll stick with O2... tho I don't expect the unlocking procedure to be any simpler! :/
All very minor additions to the OS but welcome ones all the same! It's the little things like this which add polish to Apple's products and part of the reason why Apple top customer satisfaction surveys time and time again...
Of the minor changes I'm most happy to hear about the ability to increase the fast-forward speed, it's something I've always wished was quicker...
So the iPhone's still playing catchup on feature?
Also, easily unlocked != easy viruses. WM devices are relatively easy to unlock (stack overflow, adjust the radio ROM, get a code from there, enter the code, unlocked!) and yet I've never ever had a virus.
@Oliver Levett - mobile phone viruses are extremely rare. Certainly the iPhone has never had one, but expect that to change for most mobile OSes before too long.
@Oliver: Is that so, that's why all other manufactures are now implementing touch screen, App stores etc, mmm. yeah, I-Phone is playing catchup I see were your coming from.
I don't own an iPhone anyway, and wouldn't even if I got paid to own it.
Also, "All other manufactures are now implementing touch screen" you make it sound as though Apple invented the touch screen! Windows Mobile has been around with touch screens for nearly 10 years! And since it's first incarnation it had installable applications, multi-tasking, copy and past, full exchange support......
iPhone is playing catchup. MMS anyone? Copy and paste? All of the "new" features are just what everyone else has had for years, but that Apple have managed to brain wash idiots into believing are brand new, and "revolutionary".
Well said on the new "features". The Apple cult is laughable. before long we will be told that Apple even invented the concept of the mobile phone too....
Come on Oliver, Apple with the I-Phone has changed the market dramatically. Oh yes, of course Windows Mobile is very touch screen friendly. So what device did you have in 1999 that had this fantastic touch screen interface again?.
Apple have not brainwashed anybody, they have not claimed Cut&Paste & MMS are revolutionary, you just make things up as you go along. I'm pleased the MMS & Cut&Paste were not rushed, what's all this about being first, I'd rather have the thing done correct in the first place, if that means waiting a little while for that feature, then so be it.
@Kanu, what is laughable is the hidden jealousy that stands out a mile from Apple/I-phone haters, you ever noticed how I-Phone users don't do the same?, think about it.
