a quick whois reveals the domain name to be registered to future publishing so i suppose your cynicism may be warranted here, unless the company is trying something really, really different.
@mr dog - good spot. Certainly the manufacturers I called didn't 'seem' to know anything about it.
Given T3 doesn't even reference the fact its own website is displayed makes this extremely fishy in my opinion and if it is a piece of self promotion it's not a way TrustedReviews would ever endorse following. That said, I couldn't resist posting it as a Bank Holiday weekend conversation starter... ;)

Clearly complete and utter rubbish, so the question remains why? Probably some stunt to generate publicity for some feature. Will probably create short term publicity and long term derision.

but then if the device were to be genuine and it did have an on-screen keyboard, why limit the laser keyboard to that tiny size? if it can be blown up to desktop proportions, then yeah... i just have to ask all the little questions before they burn a hole in my skull
Personally, I don't care if it's a fake. If it pushes one of the big guys to look at including a laser keyboard into their device then great - bring it on. There are already bluetooth laser keyboards out there, so why not? Power is the only reason I can see, but if you use GPS without power, it'll drain the battery on most phones pretty sharpish but people still love it.
I look foward to the day when I don't need a PC at work...won't be long.
tricky one. whether its real or not its quite a nice design. although the laser keyboard does look too small to be practical when used on the same surface as the device is resting.
from both viral marketing and technology perspectives there is no reason to assume this is a prank. also if you read the T3 website it says:
"As aforementioned, little else is known about this phone, whether it's a concept, or an actual phone that a manufacturer is working on"...
so its not really a prank even if it turns out to be just a concept.
one thing is pretty much for sure, at some point someone really will make an i-phone killer. undoubtedly it will take us by suprise, but it will happen.
trusted reviews can at times (but only very rarely!) be a little to conservative in their analysis. one example being initial editorials on SSD's last year which suggested that the technology would take years to be competitive with HDD. Of course now its pretty clear that SSD is already becoming a challenge to HDD.
i dont think there is any harm in visualising the future and if this is a T3 'prank' then maybe it will have some positive effect on the perceptions of consumers and product designers.
