I'm I missing something here ? It's a car/airplane charger not a wall one so you will still need your charger while in the hotel ? Not that usefull then.
This seems to have been placed at the {19v, 3.42A}/{18.5v, 3.5A} rating that a ton of 15.4" Acers & HPs use - and it's at a good price. I particularly like the car/plane functionality!
However, the 17"-ers I've seen that use that little current are few and far between!
Sod making them themselves, they should license them out to manufacturers, perhaps they could incorporate it into the actual laptop so there is only a cable and not a brick clambering around with you.
@Luan. You are right it is only for connecting to Car Cigar outlet or similar connector on a plane. Not to a mains socket. It converts DC currents to different DC ones not AC to DC.
I think the reason they've been able to make it so small is they've used highly efficient power circuitry, I think its based around a fairly new type of transistor, not entirely sure though!
As mentioned by OldTimer this is a DC to DC converter, not AC to DC. Very small but not surpriseing as DC to DC conversion circuits are far smaller. This is only useful for changing a laptop in-car or in-air. You'd have to purchase one of their other universal adaptors for AC support.
