HTC has also indicated that they will be using MicroUSB for data and charging and a 3,5 mm headphone jack for audio on their future phones. You can read about that here: http://tweakers.net/nieuws/62956/toekomstige-htcs-krijgen-geen-extusb-aansluiting-meer.html It's in Dutch though, so you'll probably have to grab a translator.
Finally. My iPod is my primary music device but occasionally that dies while im on the move, yet I REFUSE to carry around either an adapter or a second pair of headphones. Now I will be able to just plug my main headphones into what ever i need no fuss
Hingy / ilovethemonkeyhead - while on the subject, I've always wondered what the point in the 6.3mm is?
Is it just for the extra physical strength on devices that are likely to be moved with force? (eg. guitar, big headphones connected to a device that is not in my pocket etc.)
Other than that, I'd be happy for all of my devices with 6.3mm jacks to be replaced over time with 3.5mm, it would save me having to buy adapters, and I could pack things in tighter to my A/V cabinet....
