I don't understand how they can get away with such blatant mimicry. Surely Nintendo has a patent for their nunchuck design? I'm not saying this is a bad thing, the Japanese giant is hardly short of cash at the moment. It's just surprising.

that's true, nintendo sued nyko over the usage of the same style analogue controller in their 3rd party analogue nunchuck - and i think sony might have something to say, too, with that distinct d-pad...
but the argument could be that it is an optional accessory, and not required for functionality. it isn't likely to propell asus into the game industry anytime soon, i think.
