Oh come on, you mentioned near every announcement from MS' keynote, you've barely touch on Sony's!

What about Final Fantasy XIV? ModNation Racing? MGS on PSP? You a 360 person, Hugo?

I'll admit, Natal is more impressive technology in comparison to to Sony's new controller, but in terms of practicality in the gaming world, Microsoft's is barely in the running!

Oh, and your PSP images are about 3 times the width of my browser window ;-) Nice to see it in all it's glory though.

I disagree, the Sony motion controller looked quite good to me, the whole Natal thing was hyperbole, for MS & Peter Molyneux to suddenly dismiss the controller as a thing of the past I find extremely optimistic. I actually like to hold something, no pretend steering wheel etc. Poor old Tony Hawks showed off his Wiiboard skate thing, only for MS to diss it later in the natal presentation. So the scriptsheet was odd. Do I look forward to talking to avatars like a human being and playing in pretend ponds etc. should it ever happen the answer is NO i consider it a very ODD thing to do.

Aside from that more Halo, another Call of Duty on rails, another forza, the Metal Gear borefest coming to 360, more useless crap like facebook and twitter. Oops I forgot the dinosaur beatles rock band cash cow. The Sky annoucement is the only bright thing from MS for me in this E3.

Nintendo went even better revealing ANOTHER useless plastic gimmick a biometric stress finger sheath, more mario, and pathetic games aimed at the female market which I even found patronising LOL.

Sony concentrated more on games, but I still don't feel the need to buy one or the new PSP. The had a steady show until the japs invaded the stage.

Summing up nothing new, more of the same, and a public showing of tech obsessiveness, apart from ninty who just love sales figures and projections.

Highlights Assasins Creed 2 er... that's about it for me.

When the dust settles maybe things will look better but right now it was a really bad E3 for the big three IMHO. The Wii has made them obsessed with junk ways to play a game.

Is this the credit crunch, the major players are making my work seem more exciting. I smell a conspiracy.

I was quite disappointed with the Sony announcements on the PS3 front myself, especially after all of the stuff Microsoft announced.

Makes me feel I should have waited till after E3 to take the plunge and buy a PS3..

However, the new PSP games coming out caught my eye - gunna look forward to playing some of those when released.

Firstly I want to say Project Natal looked incredible; yet not a viable concept. So many things such as poor voice recognition, living room lighting, confusion with regards to identifying players - the living room can be a very busy place - all these and more would often go wrong.

Anyhow, I was very impressed with Sony at E3. Games were once an area of criticism for the PS3, yet this E3 had MAG, FF, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Rachet and Clank, as well as a host of multi platform games: MW2 and Assassins Creed 2 etc. But I was really impressed with the motion controls.

The Wii really doesn't interest me, without sounding like a 12 year old, I like hardcore games the Wii just cannot deliver. Sonys motion controls paired with the PSeye looked incredible; Incredibly accurate on a 3d playing field, So much fun is round the corner from this. And in relation to Project Natal, this had a real Tech Demo and interesting uses. I for one can't wait.

@DrDark - do you think that anything that you could buy in Currys is "new" technology? Everything you'#ve seen at E3 has been done previously. Everything at WWDC next week, and CES months before has been done before... In concept.

Demoing something on stage is so hugely vastly different from producing a marketable product. These things take time to tweak and intergrate. Sony, and even, dare I say it, Microsoft, have had these things in development for years... Sony at least will wait until it's ready before releasing it... Microsoft will rush it out, of course, to beat Sony before the tech is actually ready... <fanBoyDuckAndCover>

I'm not sure you could call £200 for the PSP go 'crazy' expensive. Sure, it's a little more than the original, but it also comes with 16GB of internal memory. Probably the closest comparison you could make is with the 16GB iPod touch, which currently retails for more than the PSP Go probably would, yet it looks like the Go would be able to do everything the iPod can and more.

Am not kidding myself about "new" technology in any way {which is why I read TrustedReviews to keep up to date ;)}, however what Sony showed was nothing new or innovate in any way, shape or form. The video I attached is 3 years ago. If Sony have been developing this for "years"... well, hurry up then!*

Are you seriously trying to argue that Sony's tech was further ahead that Microsoft's? Even without Peter's demonstation, the whole face recognition and gesturing aspect for the menus alone were more impressive than flailing a terrible-looking tennis racket about in an attempt to hit a ball.

Not that I agree with Microsoft about doing away with controllers altogether either. I'd love to see proper game demos from both sides.

For now, I don't really feel either offer a significant improvement over Nintendo. Ubisoft showed a short trailer for their next fitness game which uses a camera (apparently co-developed with Nintendo) to scan your full body.

So by E3 2010 I expect to see the big face-off:

Natal vs Sony Motion Controller VS WiiMotionPlus+BalanceBoard+WiiSpeak+UbiCamera

Yes those are a lot of peripherals on Nintendo's side, but at that point it'll have to be all about the games; no more lame demos.

*Second issue of UK Wired even had one of the augmented reality demos using just a geometric shape on a page and a person's regular webcam + some specific software.

GT 5 is gonna be the true racing experience. NASCAR, WRC and F1!!!!! With Damage!

Incredible showing. I was really impressed with the PSP line up.

Also they confirmed Lost Planet 2 WILL be coming to the PS3.

Now im really intereseted in the R* exclusive Agent because they said “travel around the globe” in 1970’s espionage! That sounds massive if it’s the scope im thinking of.

METAL GEAR RIZEN HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FOR THE PS3 AGAIN BY JACK TRENTON.

and as for the motion controller (im not a big fan) but that motion controller was really impressive, and it was very very accurate.

Hugo, we are talking about Sony's Conference, so lets just stop comparing.

The only thing that interests me is natal - sorry guys it was the only really cool thing and according to ign who got a go using one they said it worked just like it did in the demo. Also since developer kits have already been distributed I can see some good games in the future. I really like the psp go design looks quite promising as the games for it. Nintendo's well .... it seemed over before it began to be honest. Overall glad I purchased I 360 but Ps3 is still very tempting (don't wanna pay £300 ATM though- maybe when the games come out) as is the psp go.

PS just to check was there no information on GT - starting to wonder if that'll ever be released - well sony have another 7 years (if the ten year thing is to be believed)

Um... no. The two are entirely comparable and Sony's presentation just didn't wow me as much. At least it wasn't as uninspiring as Nintendo, right?

Personally, I'm using a borrowed Xbox at the moment, but I'm gunning for a PS3 solely for the Gran Turismo experience... once its released!

Natal does seem to be more of a leap forward, but, is it true to say that very few people seem to be disappointed with their purchase, be it Xbox or PS3? (I'm excluding the Wii from this because the Wii is quite clearly aimed at a slightly different market). Obviously, there are advantages of both consoles, but they both seem to be largely equivalent to a non fanboy.

@Hugo, why do we have to compare and talk about MS in the a Sony article.

And for the rest of the guys here if you wanna talk about MS's conference there is an article here you know, go there. Leave your fanboyism in the toilet.

and btw all the games MS showed makes me wanna buy a better Graphics card then a 360, cause i see alot of good 360 games are also on the PC, and we all know PC looks and plays better and it is more reliable then a Xbox 360.

as for the PS3 alot of their good game are only on their console (God of war 3, Uncharted 2, GrandTurismo 5)

that why Ps3 impressed me they have more first party support and more content only for their console.

i forgot to mention that i own a 360 arcade with two games (Fable 2 and Ninja gaiden 2 and 2 pads) im selling it at 190 euros

and buying this beast ( i have a 9600GT, need to upgrade )

PC games cost less then a 360 game for example

PC is 10 euros less, can you imagine.

this year upcoming PC, 360 games that inters me:

Left 4 Dead 2 Wayyyy better on PC and cheaper

Splinter Cell:Conviction better on PC and cheaper

and all the rest multiplatform that are on PS3, 360, PC, i buy all of them on my PC.

i made some calculation, and i realized that PC, PS3 is cheaper for me and better game experience.

PC for the multiplatform games, (PC, 360) (PS3,360,PC)

PS3 for their great first party exclusive lineup.

so whats the reason for me to own a 360? my own answer is none.

IMO, from this E3 Microsoft it did not impress me at all and made me sell my 360.

@ Ahlan - If you're concerned about prices then you should shop around for that 4890 because that price is outrageous. Try searching around a little bit, they can easily be found for around £170.

am i the only that thought the psp go is a complete con? a redesign, smaller screen and 16gb flash and they're trying to charge the original price from 4 years ago?

i don't see the value personlly.

@ ravmania... I also think the PSP redesign is a not significant enough to warrant its price point. On the flip side I guess, i was well impressed with the psp lineup including Gran Turismo - Almost as impressed as I was when I thought it would have been coming out sometime around 2005/6.

@hugo and ahlan - It's not called fanboyism on here. How can you not compare the MS and Sony presentations, they are in direct competition with one another.
