Yeah, but where the hell are those 32gig microSD*H*C cards? They promised them, like, forever ago and that's the standard I can actually read today. My Clip+ purchase depends on it.
Yeah, we're talking about two very different usage cases here. SSDs use much faster memory and use expensive controls with extra cache. The two simply aren't comparable.
From my experience when a company says that "2TB" or "whatever" is what the maximum architecture allows most likely means that they already test it it and have the product ready, the reason you won't see it in mass production any time soon is because it would be very poor business decision when you think about all the money they can make by making small increments in sizes and cash in on them first.
