Unfortunately according to that Planet5D post, it looks like this update is for the 1D MkIV and not the 5D MkII. :(

Talk about a come down - there I was, looking forward to the 720p 60fps firmware only for it all to vanish in a puff of smoke at the and of the article!

There's no way Canon would release the FW without 60fps now, the backlash from the blogoshpere would be brutal! There certainly appears to be no technical reason for it not to be implemented with the 1080p 24 FW and it would boost sales nicely.

Near the end of the video it says the update is for the 5D MkII, so Planet5D are wrong.

why not 1080p 60fps. The sanyo xacti camcorders can do this.
