@lifethroughalens Yep, these companies needs to be boycotted. You can get a return flight to New York for £300... buy this camera in person and it's still £200 cheaper! Crazy. I was actually going to do that to buy a Macbook Pro a couple of years ago.
Alternatively, why not just wait some months before the competition catches up and Canon are forced to drop the price as they usually do !! Personally i'd never go out and buy an item just launched!, at the very least i would await until several independent reviews on it and see what they were like before even considering it!
Plus i'd wait until Canon upgrade something like thier EOS 5D MK 11 and bung a couple of DIGIC 4 processors in to bring it up to speed( if you'll excuse the pun!!). I see no point in trying to squeeze even more pixels into a full frame camera, as it just squashes them and causes more noise in the picture, so when Canon finally bring out a similar SLR with two processors in it to achieve the same/similar frame rate, then i'll be interested, once i know how it performs independently of course! Something like their EOS 1DS MK 11 but i think that's a classic example of Canon falling for the more pixels is best trap! The independent review on this one for example quite dissapointed me, as the price tag was impressive enough!!
