I'm with be* they are great. Shame they couldn't move on to VDSL2+ like other parts Europe/world. If you are within a mile of an exchange you can get speeds of up to 100mbits, maybe more... on a single coper line.
I'm with BE too and they are superb, I really have no idea why the rest of the world is lagging behind on this 8Mb rubbish and why BE never get more mention in awards.
If they bring this service to my area then I will be signing up for sure.
Right now I'm on the 24meg service, but being a fair distance (as the wire travels) from the exchange I can only get 16-17Mb.
As I can't get Virgin in my block of flats (ugly wires and too much permission to seek) and already have Sky this would be perfect.
Now do I really need anything faster thn what I have.? Of course I do! :-)
Agree with jopey fully: be* is great and as opposed to Virgin, they actually deliver what is technologically possible, instead of trying to hide the inability to live up to the media hype behind a "fair use policy"!
I'm a long way from the exchange and could only get 4-5Mbits on the 24mbits. But they tweaked my margins for download and said I had room left in my upload... so they uncapped it and now I get the maximum my connection can handle. So I got 6mbits down and 1.2mbits up (rather than the standard 768Kbits up)... I don't know of any isp who would uncap the upload for you.
As a former be* subscriber, I'd like to add another 'yes' vote. Far better support, speeds, terms and conditions than, for example, the complete cackfight that is Talktalk, who now receive my monthly stipend following a house move. In a moment of weakness I accepted their cheap temptations and am now suffering for it. If only be* offered phone lines as well, I'd have been sorted and gone with them again - the stick in the spokes was the fact that I needed to get a BT line first, which was unacceptable. What a fool I am.
That Ben wasn't me btw. I still don't get how more than one person can have the same name on here.
However, bonded DSL from other providers does require two phone lines. So not sure how Be are doing it. From experience with Nildram, bonded DSL doesn't work very well :/
