We're on BT Broadband as a backup to our main WAN connection (which goes down faster than a... oh, it's just too obvious). 3Gb is definitely not right, otherwise we'd be in a lot of trouble with BT right. Plus, obviously, it's doesn't make sense when compared to the 10Gb of the first package.
According the the link in the article the 3gb limit is for the mobile broadband part, and im guessing it applies to the lowest package as it offers "unlimited" usage.
Okay, on closer inspection it appears Unlimited really is, but if you "abuse the service" you'll have your traffic shaped such as you get less bandwidth at certain times.
Am I being bling here (very possibly) but I cant see how fast the connection is. I do find it amazing that they can still get away with saying "unlimited" when it states that there is a 3gb limit.
All these prices are ex VAT BTW. Also the `free` mobile broadband offered on options 2 & 3 will revert to £12.50+VAT PCM after the initial agreement period of 24 months (but obviously anyone signing up is likely to jump ship at that point).
I don't really find these deals very compelling though - I get 8Mb ADSL for a tenner a month - plus Web 'n Walk (including using my Mobile as a modem) for a fiver a month so that's £15. (On top of that I pay for my landline phone rental/calls & mobile calls etc but it doesn't look like that is included in the BT packages either - i.e. I guess you would have to pay for phone line connection & calls on top?)
May be compelling for business (haven`t looked at competition since not interested from that POV) but not that compelling from a consumer POV IMHO.
