I heard a rumour that they're doing a mini version of the touch to replace the nano altogether (touch nano perhaps?). Wish they'd hurry up with this fabled iTablet though!
Why wait in vain for the Beatles catalog on iTunes? Buy the CDs and rip them. Likely to be cheaper and you can choose your compression/format. (Compressed for your iPod, lossless for playing at home through you hi-fi. If you're a Beatles fan you've probably got the CDs already anyway.
I'm not a huge Beatles fan - I just own the Red & Blue albums - but I'd like to sample more of their back catalogue (and I'm not such a fan that I want more of their albums).
I don't think there's a place you can listen to their whole catalogue on the internet. I'd be just as happy if Spotify or Amazon got the rights, but iTunes seems the front-runner.
@CptKirk - Like your thinking re. the date, Apple have been known to release things on certain dates that tie in to the product before... So yeah, either iTunes, 9 or maybe The Police will be releasing their catalogue in the UK Store!
So long as it comes with the ability to organise the location of apps in the OS on your iPhone I'm happy... And hopefully, if the social networking features are true, the ability to turn them the hell off.
I can see quite clearly the point Pbryanw is making which is that they do not want the whole album, just to download and listen to a few selected tracks.
Actually, there's a small chance that the Beatles discography will be hitting iTunes on the 9th. The logic is that the Beatles Rock Band game will be released on the 9th, as will their new digitally remastered albums. This date curiously coincides with the Apple keynote.
