Zelda: Twilight Princess HD has a new dungeon, but you may need an amiibo to play it

The Wolf Link amiibo will grant you access to a new and exclusive dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

It seems The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is more than just a simple HD remaster. Nintendo has added a new dungeon to the game, according to a listing by Amazon France.

Unfortunately, it seems you will require the Wolf Link amiibo to access the new dungeon. The NFC figurine will be available separately or as part of the game’s limited edition.

Nintendo is yet to make an official announcement regarding the content, or whether it will be accessible through other means such as priced DLC.

The details have since been removed from the product page, but not after being spotted by keen eyes at Nintendo Insider and NeoGAF.

“Unlock bonuses with ‘The Legend of Zelda’ Amiibos,” the amazon page described. “Tap all the Amiibos for the Zelda series to unlock bonuses in the game, such as regenerating your life, or getting arrows for your bow.

“The new Wolf Link Amiibo even allows you to get into a new dungeon: ‘The Twilight Cave’.”

The Wolf Link Amiibo will be available alongside The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD when it launches on March 4 for the Nintendo Wii U.

Other new additions to Twilight Princess HD include Hero Mode; a more challenging mode that was also present in Wind Waker HD.

The game’s inventory is now accessible via the gamepad, which should make the screen far less cluttered and easier to navigate.

Major graphical upgrades have also been implemented, as you might expect from a HD remaster.

The original Twilight Princess released in November 2006 for the Nintendo Gamecube and as a launch title for the Wii.

We’re having a hard time wrapping our heads around the fact that it’s been almost ten years since then.
