YouView Humax DTR-T1010 set-top box released with silver finish

Humax has launched the latest in its YouView set-top box range, the YouView Humax DTR-T1010, complete with brand new silver finish.

The successor of the critically acclaimed YouView Humax DTR-T1000, the new Humax YouView box offers all the features of the older model but now comes in both 500GB and 1TB internal storage options.

Unfortunately, like the Humax DTR-T1000, the new YouView Humax DTR-T1010 still lacks inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity, instead using an Ethernet port to connect to home broadband networks. The new colour scheme hides the fact that the YouView Humax DTR-T1010 is, specs-wise, a mirror of its predecessor, which will now be phased out of stores by the new silver-skinned model.

YouView is a subscription-free TV service that offers over 70 live digital channels as well as providing access to BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 via an internet connection. On-demand services also include the STV player and milkshake! content, alongside Sky Now TV offering pay-per-view blockbuster movies.

The YouView TV guide allows users to scroll back through the past seven days and catch up with any shows they might have missed. The ability to pause and rewind live TV is also offered, just in case viewers have to take a break or missed a pivotal plot moment for any reason. The huge internal storage options of the Humax DTR-T1010 means users can use YouView’s recording capabilities to save tonnes of programmes to watch at a later date. With YouView, users can record up to two programmes at once, even whilst watching a third.

Available now from John Lewis, the YouView Humax DTR-T1010 will cost £299.99 for the 500GB model and just £30 more for double the storage capacity at £329.99 for 1TB. The Humax YouView set-top box will be coming to other electronics retailers later this month.
