As rumours that Apple is planning to do away with the headphone jack for the upcoming iPhone 7 continue to mount, the world awaits the inevitable onslaught of dodgy Chinese adapters.
And today, we’ve had our first glimpse at what those adapters could look like.
Chinese accessory maker Tama Electric has posted images of three Lightning-to-headphone adapters on its website.
Two of the advertised accessories feature a micro USB port for charging the phone while the adapter is plugged in.
The three accessories, which feature volume controls and what looks like it could be a play/pause button, don’t appear to be available to buy at this time, with no price listed on the website.

Of course, there’s been no official word from Apple on whether the iPhone 7 will in fact come without the legacy 3.5mm jack, which is one of the last remaining analogue connection standards still in use today.
However, several leaks purporting to show the design for the upcoming handset seem to back up the rumours, although a leak earlier this month from French tech site Nowhereelse suggested Apple could be sticking with the headphone jack after all.
Tama Electric’s adapters, which only appear to be renders at this point, certainly seem to point towards the demise of the 3.5mm standard.
But we’re hoping that Apple, if it does intend to go this route, has a better design in mind for the official adapters if and when they eventually arrive.
