You’ll never guess what LG’s X Cam and X Screen phones specialise in

LG has announced a new series of mid-range smartphones that aims to specialise in one particular area.

The LG X Cam and LG X Screen haven’t been designed with all the bells and whistles of a flagship phone. Rather, both possess a single exceptional feature that you wouldn’t expect to find in a mid-range smartphone.

As the names suggest, the LG X Cam specialises in the photographic department, offering the kind of innovative dual-camera (one 13-megapixel, one 5-megapixel) set-up you might expect to see in a top-end phone. The LG V10, to be precise.

Other than that, you have a normal-looking 5.2-inch 1080p display, 1.14GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 2,520mAh battery.

Can you guess what the LG X Screen specialises in? That’s right, it’s got a fancy screen. Or rather, it has a secondary 1.76-inch ticker screen to complement the 4.9-inch regular screen. Again, a bit like the LG V10.

Aside from thar dual-screen set-up, the LG X Screen has a 1.2GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13-megapixel camera, and a 2,300mAh battery.

LG says that both the LG X Cam and LG X Screen will debut at MWC 2016 from February 22. That’s the day after LG is set to officially unveil the LG G5, which will likely be comprised of nothing but premium components.
