You could test the LG G4 ahead of the phone’s official release

LG is looking to get its next flagship phone into the hands of consumers ahead of launch, with thousands of LG G4 units to be given out prior to release.

Looking to generate some hype around the phone’s impending launch, the Korean manufacturer has confirmed plans to offer month long ‘test drives’ to 4,000 prospective consumers around the world.

Sadly, once the 30-day trial period is over, those lucky enough to have sampled the upcoming Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 rival will be forced to hand the device back.

Despite the phone not being pencilled in for a formal release until April 28, the manufacturer has confirmed it will start handing out G4 units in its native Korea today, April 8.

The phone’s will be dished out to select consumers in a further 14 countries in “the days ahead”.

Other nations confirmed to get early LG G4 access include the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, France and, fortunately for us, the UK.

Eager smartphone shoppers in Turkey, Singapore, India, Mexico, Indonesia and Brazil will also be offered the chance to sample the LG G3 follow-on.

We’re putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests,” Juno Cho, LG Mobile’s President and CEO said.

So, how can you get your hands on the LG G4 ahead of launch? Well, you’ll need a combination of determination and luck.

Those looking to get an advanced look at the future flagship will need to visit their localised LG website where a questionnaire will soon be available. LG has stressed that those applicants pushing the comp through their social media channels will stand a better chance of being selected.

The LG G4 has been the subject of multiple leaks and countless rumours in recent weeks. Ahead of the phone’s upcoming launch, LG has confirmed the handset will play host to a new, 5.5-inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD display.

This will be partnered with an improved UX 4.0 interface and f/1.8 wide aperture primary camera.
