Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer ‘hates’ the company’s search partnership with Microsoft’s Bing, reports have suggested.

With the decade long partnership having been penned prior to Mayer’s reign, it has been suggested that the Yahoo head despises the search deal and is actively pursuing any method or loophole that would allow her to disband the deal.

“The minute Marissa finds a way out of that deal without committing suicide, she will,” a claimed insider source at Yahoo reportedly told Recode. They added: “She hates it.”

Despite the 10 year deal having only been struck up in 2009, Mayer is reportedly seeking to end the contract in order to reinstate Yahoo as a search engine giant in its own right.

According to reports, the CEO has order two behind-closed-doors teams to be formed to create a search system to rival the likes of Google and Bing.

In a bid to skirt the terms of its deal with Microsoft, Mayer is said to be pointing Yahoo’s renewed search efforts towards mobile and contextual search as opposed to traditional web and keyword search.

Hinting at Yahoo’s upcoming search plans, Mayer recently discussed her search objectives while speaking at the Goldman Sachs investor conference in San Francisco.

“When I look at things like contextual search, I get really excited,” she told investors. “The amount of information available to build a service on, it’s just incredible.”
