XOO Belt is a fashion accessory that charges your phone

Stepping out, but your smartphone battery is a little low? Just plug it into this belt, and you can juice it up as you go.

It’s called the XOO Belt, and it features a 2,100mAh Lithium Ceramic Polymer battery that’s flexible, so won’t break if you put on a few pounds over Christmas. The charge is enough to fully juice up a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini or iPhone 6, but not quite the standard Galaxy S5 or iPhone 6 Plus.

The belt is also weather-resistant, and will take all the wear and tear of everyday use.

Here’s how it works. The charging cable is held by magnets against the inside of the belt. When you need to, just plug it into your phone. The cable is long enough so you can put your phone in your pocket, which is handy.

You can see it in action in the video at the bottom of the story.

It works with Android, iOS and Windows Phone handsets, though you’ll need to add your own Lightning adapter for Apple devices. It should give all its juice in about three hours.

It looks like a standard belt, made of full-grain tanned leather. It comes in a range of styles, and you can personalise the look by swapping the buckle. Each buckle has five LEDs on the upper part that show how much battery you have left.

It’s passed its funding goal and should start shipping in July next year.
