Xiaomi’s UK online store gets official launch date

Xiaomi is about to embark on its quest for global domination with the fast-approaching launch of its international online store.

Having trialled the store in beta mode recently, the China-based company will officially open the Mi Store in the UK, France, Germany, and the USA on June 2.

While you won’t be able to buy any of the company’s smartphones through the store, a selection of accessories will be available to buy.

These peripheral devices include the Mi Power Bank, the Mi Band, and the Mi Headphones.

The Mi Power Bank comes in two flavours; there’s a 5,000mAh model, as well as a slightly more expensive 10,400mAh version.

The Mi Headphones are gold and black over-ear cushioned headphones, and cost $79.99 – that’s about £50.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band is a fitness tracker that offers a claimed 30-day battery life, as well as Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and iOS and Android support.

“We pride ourselves on making high-quality products available at incredible prices, and I’m truly excited to bring a selection of our best-selling accessories to fans in the US and Europe,” explained Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s VP of International.

He continued: “We believe that Mi fans will have a great experience with these products, and we look forward to bringing more Mi products over time to the US and Europe.”

The company trialled the Mi Store last week, offering a very limited amount of stock. The products sold out within minutes.
