Firaxis Games and publisher 2K are aware of XCOM 2’s technical issues, and plans to address them with future updates.

2K has addressed many of the issues reported by players in a recent forum post, and is currently working on resolving them as soon as possible.

"We are aware some players have experienced performance issues while playng XCOM 2," said community manager Dave Hinkle. "We are looking into them and gathering more information from users.

"We want everyone to have the best experience possible, and will continue supporting the title with upcoming patches."

Since its release last week, players have reported a number of problems whilst playing the game. Some of these include framerate drops and stutters during cinematic set-pieces and intense camera movements.

2K is yet to confirm when we can expect a fix, recommending players consult its common issues FAQ in the meantime.

XCOM 2 launched on February 5 exclusively for the PC, and it’s already shaping up to be one the best games of 2016, especially if you’re a strategy fan.

In his review, our own Stuart Andrews described it as “one of the most tense, demanding and addictive strategy games ever, where every choice has repercussions and every soldier, every victory counts. If you buy it, clear your schedule: this one will keep you gripped for months.”

XCOM 2 natively supports the Steam controller, and can be bought as part of a bargain bundle containing a copy of the game and the controller itself.

Now we just need to cross our fingers and wait for the console release.
