Xbox One VR title in the works for 2017, says developer

One major developer is working on a virtual reality title for Xbox One, according to Ars Technica.

The developer is reportedly developing the game for release in 2017, and has plans to show it at E3 next month.

Ars Technica received the information directly from the developer which was then confirmed by a PR representative.

This report adds further weight to recent rumours that Microsoft is developing two new Xbox One consoles for release in the near future, one of which, will support VR.

It appears the title is being developed for both PC and Xbox One, suggesting that future models of Microsoft’s console will directly support the Oculus Rift.

Recent reports surfaced from Kotaku and Polygon earlier this week suggesting Microsoft is planning two new consoles for release in 2016 and 2017.

One of these is the ‘Xbox Mini’ a hardware revision that will be ‘40% smaller’ than the current Xbox One. It will maintain the same specs, but with a major exterior redesign.

The Xbox Scorpio is a new model rumoured to release in 2017, which will be a major hardware revision with an upgraded GPU and console design.

We’ll be sure to find more at E3, but for now, let us know what you think in the comments.
