Xbox One’s new system update brings back the avatar store

The latest Xbox One firmware update is now available, marking the return of the 360 avatar marketplace and a bunch of new features.

Microsoft has released the latest firmware update for Xbox One and Windows 10, and it’s now available to download on all systems.

The new update will debut a number of new features, including the long-awaited return of the avatar marketplace.

Customising personal avatars became a key feature on Xbox 360, so it’s nice to have access to the full marketplace on Xbox One.

Other new features include the ability to check who and how many players are in a party before you join it.

You will now be able to view Gamerscore Leaderboards and customise your dashboard pins offline, as well as rearrange them on your home screen.

The console’s activity feed has also been updated, providing you with immediate shortcuts to Twitch Broadcasts and the Xbox One chatpad.

You can find a more extensive breakdown of the update’s new features on Major Nelson’s blog.
