Is the Xbox One S a no-brainer? – The Refresh

Xbox One S – Microsoft has confirmed the new Xbox One S console will launch on August 2nd, 2016. Brett Phipps (@InverteBrett) talks us through the console’s new features, including the all-new, 40% smaller design, 4K UHD Blu-ray player, support for HDR gaming and an improved controller.

Titan X reveal – NVIDIA has announced its flagship Titan X graphics card. 12 billion transistors, 11 TFLOPs, 3,584 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR5X RAM. This ultimate 4K and VR graphics card doesn’t come cheap though, with a $1,199 (£913) price tag. Ouch.

ARM sale – The pride of the British tech industry, ARM holdings, has been sold to Japanese firm SoftBank for £24 billion. Spun out from Acorn computers in 1990, the technology firm’s chips are used in 95% of all smartphones.

CAT S60 review – Alastair Stevenson (@MonkeyGuru) has reviewed the rugged new CAT S60 thermal imaging smartphone, which can highlight electrical wiring, broken pipes and heat loss in homes.

Head-to-Head – Max Parker (@ParkerMax) and Sean Keach (@SeanKeach) go head-to-head over which is the best Android smartphone and Sean reveals what the ‘Mum’ test is.
