The Xbox One release date has been teased as ‘late November’ suggesting the Microsoft branded next-gen console will not make it to market until after its bitter rival, Sony’s PS4.

With Microsoft having to date only stated that it will hold the Xbox One release date in November, latest reports have seen marketing materials point to a more specific ‘late November’ arrival. Last week Sony announced that the PS4 release date would be held on November 15 in the US and November 29 in the UK and Europe.

Word of a late November Xbox One release date has surfaced courtesy of a PepsiCo promotional campaign which has promised to give away an Xbox One console every two minutes between November 5 and January 17.

While it had been hoped that this promotion would indicate that an Xbox One release date would be held in the opening days of November, the competition’s terms and conditions document has seemingly refuted any hopes of this.

“Xbox One has a targeted launch date of late November 2013,” the document reads. Alerting wannabe winners to potentially lengthy delays, it adds: “Therefore, the initial shipments may be slightly delayed; please allow 12-14 weeks for delivery.”

A recent raft of Xbox One release date rumours pointed to the console beating the Xbox One to market. Based on leaked retailer stock listings, it has been suggested that the Xbox One, which will cost £429 at launch, will be made available to consumers from November 8.

Keeping its lips tightly sealed on the subject of its next-gen gamer’s arrival, Microsoft has failed to comment on either the ‘late November’ or November 8 Xbox One release date speculation.
