Xbox One game announcements coming before E3

Microsoft has confirmed there will be Xbox One game announcements arriving before E3 in June.

Aside from some big news at the E3 2014 gaming conference later this year, Microsoft will have some big Xbox One game news to announce this month.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed Microsoft will announce “a couple of things” before E3, but failed to give any further details.

He did add that: “May should be a good month for news. Took me a month to get plans set.”

There should be an announcement related to Sunset Overdrive happening Thursday, May 6, but other than that we’re in the dark as to what games these announcements will be related to.

As for E3 itself, which runs from June 10 – 12, Microsoft also has some more game announcements up its sleeves.

Spencer said that Microsoft will use E3 to announce the new studios it is working with for the Xbox One, adding that it will relate to “stuff we are committed to, from top studios, for this year and future.”

Plus, Spencer confirmed Microsoft will “announce both new IP and new sequels at E3.”

Of course, earlier this year, Spencer also revealed that “Halo news will be coming at E3”.

“343 Industries has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone,” tweeted Spencer back in February.

Hopefully, we’ll finally hear what the Halo 5 game is officially called and get some semblance of a release date for the Xbox One exclusive.

Microsoft has yet to confirm the timings for its E3 press conference, but it usually falls on the Monday morning prior to the show, which would put it on June 9 this year.
