The Xbox One controller has be showcased alongside the next-generation console, with Microsoft introducing 40 new design features and reactive trigger feedback over past controllers.
While not going down the touchpanel route like the Sony PS4 offering, the new Xbox One controller has received a raft of small design alterations that look set to combine in order to make a large overall impact, with more angular curves and an elongated top panel included.
Xbox One Controller Features
Playing host to new dynamic impulse triggers which will, according to Microsoft offer “feedback directly into the triggers,” the Xbox One controller will also see an integrated battery compartment which will allow for simple recharges.
With a precision D-Pad lining up alongside remodelled analogue sticks which host newly ridged edges for improved feedback, the Xbox One controller also sports a Wi-Fi direct radio stack meaning pesky cable thankfully remain a thing of the past.
Although heavily rumoured to feature on the Xbox One controller, Microsoft has made no reference of the next-gen peripheral hosting a ‘share’ button for instant online content sharing.
Xbox One Release Date and Price
As expected, the Xbox One release date has been confirmed for ‘later this year’ with the Xbox 360 replacement to hint retailers ‘around the world’ simultaneously. Unfortunatly, no word has yet been offered up on the Xbox One price.
