Xbox Music users can now play tunes stored on OneDrive

Microsoft has updated its Xbox Music app to allow users to stream tracks uploaded to the OneDrive cloud storage platform.

From today (via VentureBeat), any files uploaded to the new Music folder within OneDrive will automatically show up in the Xbox Music app across Windows devices, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.

Users can upload unto 50,000 tracks OneDrive, so it gives users the opportunity to access their entire music libraries without having to store the files locally. Beyond the native apps, users will also be able to stream their tunes from the OneDrive website.

The initiative is similar to the Google Play Music tool, which enables users to access their files on a huge array of connected devices.
