Xbox Fitness runs out of steam as Microsoft pulls out of the race
Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Fitness app for Xbox One will be discontinued.
The app provides exercise videos that can be used with a Kinect sensor for additional value. However, it isn’t being used enough to justify an update, the firm says.
As such, all content will be unavailable from 1 July 2017.

“Therefore, the decision has been made to scale back our support for Xbox Fitness over the next year.”

Microsoft had pushed the service quite heavily, initially, acquiring the skills of celebrity fitness guru Jillian Michaels to lead the content.
As of today, newcomers to the service won’t be able to purchase any additional content and by the end of the year it will no longer be free with Xbox Live Gold memberships.
