Withings has announced a new fitness tracker aimed at the affordable end of the market.
French wearables company Withings has, up to now, been more readily associated with stylish wristwatch-like designs. You would happily wear the likes of the Withings Activité out after you’ve finished your run.
Now, at CES 2016, the company has announced the Withings Go, a distinctly affordable fitness wearable.
For just £49.95, the Withings Go provides a colourful buttonless plastic design, a Kindle-like e-ink display, and a replacable battery that will last up to eight months.
It’s been designed so that it can be worn as a watch with the appropriate wristband, or clamped on to a pocket or some other item of clothing with its clip.
It’ll automatically track all of your activities, including walking, running, swimming, and sleeping. The benefit of that low-power e-ink display is that it will constantly display your activities in real-time. Press the screen, and it’ll switch to an always-on watch display.

E-ink also means that the Withings Go is always visible, even in strong sunlight and underwater.
Like its more expensive brothers, the Withings Go syncs up with the Withings Health Mate app to provide you with the relevant health metrics in an intuitive manner.
The Withings Go will be made available some time over the next few months.
