Withings Activité pre-orders open ahead of November 25 release

The Withings Activité has been made available for pre-order, with the stylishly simplistic smartwatch setting wannabe owners back £320.

With the Withings Activité release date to be held on November 25, pre-orders for the Moto 360 and LG G Watch rival have opened up less than three weeks ahead of launch.

Unveiled back in the summer, the Activité has overlooked much of the traditional smartwatch fare – touchscreen display, Android Wear OS, message retrieval – in favour of classic looks and a simple ‘smart’ credential.

Featuring a host of motion and activity sensors, the Activité is capable of monitoring all the usual fitness metrics – including steps taken, distance travelled and calories burn. Users’ progression is then displayed on a goal dial in the centre of the watch’s analogue display.

As much about style as its fitness-tracking smart credentials, the Activité pairs a stainless a stainless steel body and soft leather strap. A traditional Swiss watch motion also sits under the hood alongside the device’s Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.

Despite its impressive looks and refined functionality, Withings has suggested that the Activité will not go head-to-head with the Apple Watch when the Cupertino-based company’s first wearable lands next year.

“The Activité is aimed at Mr and Mrs Smith,” an official Withings spokesperson said speaking with TrustedReviews recently.

She added: “This product will not convert those who really want an Apple Watch or an LG watch.”

The Withings Activité is available to pre-order through the company’s online store.
