UPDATE: Around 8 hours after Apple Music launched on Tuesday, the company launched a new version of iTunes for Mac and PC, allowing desktop users the chance to sample the new streaming service and the Beats 1 radio station.

Apple has yet to release its Beats 1-enalbing iTunes update for PC and Mac, but one eagle-eyed user has unearthed a way to bring the new streaming station to the desktop.
Curious music lovers without an iPhone or an iPad are still waiting for Apple to drop iTunes v.12.2 so they can officially give Apple Music a try.
However, MacStoriesNet editor Federico Viticci has found an easy way to listen in to the Beats 1 feed using the current version (12.1) of the entertainment hub.
All folks need to do is browse to the Radio section within iTunes, click the icon next to My Stations and begin typing Beats 1. The station should appear within the list and a simple click begins playback.

Just like the iPhone and iPad version, which went live this morning (Cupertino time), there’s album art which changes for each song and the ability to share the track or start a radio station based upon it. Currently there’s no play history, nor the chance to add it the song to ‘My Music,’ but that’ll surely change when the new iTunes eventually drops.
In all honesty, the workaround is actually pretty obvious, but fair play to Federico for sussing it out. There’s no news yet on when Apple will roll out the iTunes update, but we’ll keep you posted.
Apple Music and Beats 1 began broadcasting in 100 countries on Tuesday, with broadcasts kicking off with Zane Lowe’s two-hour show at 5pm UK time.
