Windows 10 is now openly judging Firefox and Chrome users

Windows 10 has effectively become that annoying vegan friend who judges you when you order a burger and tells you the harrowing story about how it came to your plate.

As part of a new series of Windows 10 tips, Chrome and Firefox browser users are being informed ‘you know what, actually, Edge is far safer for you.’

As spotted by illCodeYouABrain on Reddit, Users are seeing a pop-up on the Edge icon saying “Microsoft Edge is safer than Firefox. It blocks 21% more socially engineered malware.”

It then offers a link to do “learn more,” which in this instance is Microsoft’s “you should really educate yourself about the issues.”

Although it's in text form, we're positive it'd be spoken with the requisite Australian interrogative.

If you don’t want to hear Microsoft’s ‘annoying vegan friend’ act, the firm told VentureBeat that tips can be easily switched off in system settings.

Just go to Settings > System > Notifications > Disable Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows.

Or you could listen to Microsoft, which has gleaned that 21% safer figure from a report by NSS Labs.

Oooh, is this a way to fuck off all those "try orifice 365 now!" messages whilst I'm watching a film?

I HATE advertising being forced in my face by a program I've paid for. Android does it too but at least it's a notification you can ignore until you're ready to read it and dismiss it rather than a "bing bong" *LOOK AT ME!* thing that comes in over what you're doing.

Piss of Microsoft and go and drown in your money pit.

Uh, doesn't that make Windows 10 itself malware? Malware is as malware does.

Would you write an article with blatant sexism? Probably not but veganphobia is acceptable then?

Seriously, man-up. It's sarcasm.

The jibe at vegans is unnecessary and in poor taste, Chris.
