White Nexus 4 already sold out in US

The limited edition white Nexus 4 smartphone has already sold out in the US, just three days after it launched.

The American Google Play store is currently displaying the irritating temporarily out of stock message for the 16GB version of the limited edition white Nexus 4.

Generating strong reminders of the huge stock shortage for the original black Google Nexus 4 handset at launch, many would have hoped Google and its manufacturing partner LG had learnt from their mistakes.

However, the 8GB version of the white Nexus 4 is still available, though it’s worth remembering that the smartphone doesn’t have a microSD card slot to expand that memory base.

The black Nexus 4 is still available in both 8GB and 16GB varieties too.

Due to be arriving in other territories, including the UK, soon, LG and Google will have to fix their inventory issues pretty sharpish to avoid another worldwide Nexus 4 shortage.

Google Nexus 4 Features
The Google Nexus 4 smartphone packs identical specs whether consumers opt for the black or limited edition white handset. It has a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS screen with 1280 x 768p resolution display and 320ppi image density.

Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, the Nexus 4 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU with 2GB of RAM. Weighing 139g, it is 9.1mm thick and offers NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Packing a 2,100mAh battery, the Nexus 4 has an 8-megapixel camera in the rear and 1.3-megapixels up front. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Nexus 4 runs the vanilla version of Android for ultimate customisation options uninhibited by an additional UI.

In the UK, the 8GB version costs £239 and the 16GB is £279, meaning the SIM-free price is more akin to a mid-range handset, despite its high-end specs.
