The first retailer to confirm plans to stock the HTC One M9, Carphone Warehouse actually offered a pre-registration holding page for the device prior to its formal unveiling.
Now, with the metal-bodied iPhone 6 rival on sale, Carphone has firmed up its HTC launch plans, making the handset available on a £37.50 per month, two-year contract with no up-front fees.
Offering the handset tied to a range of networks - including O2, EE and Vodafone - the high street seller's most appealing deal sees the M9 bundled with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and a 1GB, 4G data allowance. This equates to a total £900 cost - assuming you stay within your useage limits.
For those looking to avoid lengthy contract fees, Carphone is also selling the M8 replacement on a SIM-free basis. The handset will set you back a hefty £579.99 when not tied to a network and is available in both silver and grey colour schemes.
Bigging up its breadth of options, an official Carphone Warehouse spokesperson stated: “Carphone Warehouse will be offering the new HTC One M9 from launch on the widest choice of networks and tariffs in the UK, making it as easy as possible for customers to get a personalised deal that's right for them, whether they want to switch manufactures or upgrade their current smartphone to a brand new model.”
The UK’s leading 4G operator was another to have jumped on the HTC One M9 launch plans early, with EE confirming its intent to stock the M9 from day one.
What’s more, if you’re after the gold-on-gold M9 colour scheme, EE is the only place you’re able able to get it – at least at first.
“EE will be the only UK network to offer the exclusive single-tone gold variant of the handset in the UK for an exclusive period of three months,” the network stated.
Offering the gold model alongside its silver and grey counterparts, EE has tied the One M9 to a costly £43.49 per month, 24-month deal that gives your wallet a further kick thanks to a £49.99 up-front handset fee.
For this considerable - £1,093.75 - outlay, your shiney new M9 will be bundled with 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB of data on EE's high-speed 4G Extra network.
It’s not just the handset the company will offer, either. EE has confirmed plans to stock a host of One M9-themed accessories.
“EE will also be ranging the HTC Dot View case, which allows users to answer calls without opening it, in Grey, Blue and Pink.”
Not wanting to be left out, O2 has joined its closest network rivals in stocking the M9. The company will offer the handset in a selection of hues, too.
“O2 can reveal that they will be stocking the device on their future-proof Refresh Tariff in the coming months – in both ‘Gold on Silver’ and ‘Gunmetal’ colours,” an O2 spokesperson revealed at the time of the phone's unveiling.
With pricing now official, O2 has confirmed that its most cost effective deal will see the M9 set wannabe owners back £42.50 per month, with no additional handset charges.
This deal, which will cost £1,020 throughout the period of the contract, sees the M9 paired with unlimited texts and minutes and a 1GB, 4G data allowance.
What's more, bringing the M9 to market on its O2 Refresh tariffs, O2 makes it easier to upgrade, giving you the option to buy out your handset’s cost to upgrade to a new model while retaining the same airtime plan.
Looking to further incentivise you to join the M9 movement, O2 has confirmed that those who snap up the handset before May 6 will see their new phone bundled with a FitBit Charge fitness tracker. The add-on is worth £99.
The red-hued network is also stocking the M9 from launch, with Vodafone looking to tempt potential consumers in with its own 4G-boasting tariffs.
The company's most cost-effective deal sees the M9 tied to a £43.50 per month, two-year deal. Sadly, this comes with the caveat of a £19 up-front handset cost. This deal, which has a £1,044 total cost, sees unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 4GB of data thrown into the mix.
For those looking to avoid handset fees, Vodafone will also offer the M9 without any up-front charge when paired with a £48.50 contract. This deal also sees monthly data allowances bumped to 7GB.
Completing the collection of leading UK networks, Three is also stocking the HTC One M9 and pairing the handset with 4G connectivity at no additional cost.
Three's best deal is a £39 per month, 24-month contract with a £19 handset charge. This sees the M9 paired with the usual combination of unlimited minutes and texts, as well as a 1GB data allowance.
As well as free 4G, Three’s ‘Feel at Home’ benefits will also be extended to M9 owners. This beloved feature lets you call, text and use data in 16 countries – including the USA, Italy and Australia – without any additional costs.
The MVNO is also looking to take your One M9-bound cash, staking its claim to the most affordable handset offer.
The network is offering the M9 SIM-free for 'just' £569. This is a saving of £10.98 over other leading networks.
According to Mike Fairman, giffgaff CEO: "This is another fantastic addition to our ever-growing collection of phones available to giffgaff members."
He added: "Without being tied in to a contract, members can enjoy all the features the highly sought-after HTC One M9 has to offer by using one of our great value goodybags."
HTC's 'goodybags' are minutes and data bundles which range from £5 to £18 depending on allowances.
