What on earth is OnePlus up to now?

UPDATE: The mystery has been all but solved, as we’ve unearthed the following picture from OnePlus’ Chinese site, which features a bag that seemingly matches the bag in the image sent out by the firm today:

Bit of an anti-climax, but hey, if you’ve been waiting for what looks like a OnePlus pencil case, you just hit the jackpot.

Original story continues below:

OnePlus impressed with its latest OnePlus 3 handset, taking on the big boys and offering top specs at a very reasonable price.

But it remains to be seen what’s next for the Chinese company, and a cryptic image posted to its social media channels this weekend doesn’t do much to solve the mystery.

The image, accompanied by the text “What’s in store for #OnePlus? #comingsoon” appeared on Twitter and Facebook and has been edited to make it difficult, if not impossible, to tell what the company’s got up its sleeve.

However, we’ve done a quick Photoshop job on the shot to rearrange the various parts into their proper places.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t revealed much beyond what appears to be some sort of OnePlus-branded bag on the right of the photo.

Still, it could be a case for an actual new technology product, which is yet to be revealed – though it doesn’t look like we’re getting a new phone judging by the size of the thing.

It could also be some sort of smart back pack or other tech-enhanced clothing item, but again, the photo, even when rearranged doesn’t give away much – unless OnePlus is planning to release a new pair of high heels.

Far more likely is that OnePlus is finally branching out its lifestyle product business to international markets.

The firm already sells these products, including bags, in China through its online store, so it seems likely this could simply be a teaser for such products coming to new countries.
