What Are You Looking For In A Laptop?

Laptops have been around in some shape or form since the

1980s and while those early laptops could not stand up to the performance of

the current crop of laptops the basic form factor remains the same.

However in recent years we have seen a fragmentation in the

laptop market with netbooks, notebooks, tablets and most recently ultrabooks

offering customers a vast range of choices in portable computing all depending

on what suits your needs.

The TrustedReviews 2011 Awards powered by Duracell will give

you a chance to let us know which laptop you think has reached the pinnacle of portable

computing from the past 12 months.

The range of laptops available on the market at the moment…

The Best Laptop category is a very competitive one and

looking at the contenders, we can see just how diverse this category is

becoming. The choice ranges from the sleek and stylish like the 11in Apple

MacBook Air and the 13.3in Samsung Series 9 to the more powerful 15.6in MSI GT680

gaming laptop and lightening fast Sony Vaio Z.

But look a bit further and you’ll see just how much choice is now available depending on what you want. The ThinkPad X220 is a laptop first, tablet second

while the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is tablet first and laptop second.

What this points to however, is just how far manufacturers

are willing to go to accommodate customers’ needs. Therefore choosing the best

laptop of 2011 is not such an easy choice with your vote obviously being

dependent on whether you want a desktop replacement or something for use on the

go.

As well as getting the chance to have your say regarding what comes out on top of the laptop pile in 2011, the TrustedReviews 2011

Awards is also offering you the chance to win £2,000 worth of gadgets which could

include the laptop of your dreams.

So to be in with a chance get voting now, and let us know in

the comments what you think of the current state of the laptop market and where

you think it might go in 2012.
