HTC’s long-rumoured Android Wear smartwatch may be close to launch, as newly leaked photos of the supposed device emerge.
Rumours of the HTC smartwatch, codenamed ‘Halfbeak’, have been circulating since early 2014. Now, new images of what appears to be the unannouned watch have surfaced on Chinese social media site Weibo, sparking speculation that it may be close to launch – or, at the very least, about to enter mass-production.
Although the device has never been formally announced by HTC, it’s expected that it will feature a round face with a 360 x 360 pixel resolution, as well as a four-pin charging system. New shots depicting the back of the watch appear to show an optical heart rate sensor too.

That suggests the watch will be health-focused, especially since the leaked images appear to confirm HTC’s partnership with fitness giant Under Armour.
But take all of this with a pinch of salt. These images come with no additional information, so there’s very little we can discern about the device – if it even exists. For all we know, the images could be old or faked, so view any such leaks with due caution.
