Nintendo fans’ hopes of playing AAA third-party titles on the new Switch console have received a huge boost.
The official Twitter account for Unreal Engine 4, the engine many top titles are built upon, will officially support the console.
That opens up the door for titles from the developers of Gears of War 4 and Rocket League and Street Fighter V will be available on the hybrid machine.
Given that Unreal’s big rival Unity (Crossy Road, Superhot, etc.) excitedly confirmed support yesterday, it’s great news for the Switch.

One of the big keys to its success will be the ability to be an attractive and prosperous home for the biggest developers.
From yesterday’s trailer we already know that top franchises like Skyrim and NBA 2K will join first party titles like Mario Kart, an untitled Mario Game and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
