We lost count of just how many hours we spent trying to complete the original Super Mario Bros., and this guy just did it in under five minutes.
The gamer known as Darbian has broken the any% speedrun world record for the iconic platformer.
If you’re not familiar with the competitive world of any% gaming, it simply requires the challenger to reach the end of the game in the fastest time possible without faffing about with power ups and bonuses.
His time of 4:57:260 beat the previous record by just 433ms, which is a Formula 1 style fraction of time. Apparently such fine margins are common in this world.

If you’re wondering how Darbian did it (and don’t want to watch the video), he managed to warp to different worlds, meaning he only needed to complete a total of 8 levels to oust King Koopa and rescue The Princess
Darbian is a bit of a specialist in this area and was a former record holder at this game until regaining his crown.
After posting his successful attempt to YouTube, he wrote: "I have reached my potential in this category - I'm done! My quest is over.”
Now you can watch him make gaming history in the video below (via Destructoid). Try not to cry.
